Zombie Turtle Boy!

I just watched a hilarious interview on YouTube between a reporter for KGW-TV and a young boy at a festival.  The clip is entitled "Zombie Kid Likes Turtles."  The reporter says,"I'm here with Jonathan who just got his face pained, what do you think Jonathan?" He replies, "I like turtles."  Someone put it on YouTube and MANY people have viewed it and have made their own videos like puting it to music or reenacting the clip. I found a video of a follow up interview with the boy asking why he replied that he likes turtles.  He says that he was nervous and had seen a booth with turtles and had really liked it and want to express the things he was thinking but it came out "I like turltes."

Usually when embarassing events like this interview happen and someone puts it on YouTube the people in the clip are offended and sue whoever uploaded the clip, but this boy and his family thought it was hilarious and didnt think twice about the clip.  They could,ve reacted negativley like i said, but they didnt percieve the video as a big deal.  Perception is a big part of communication and I think this family understood that whoever uploaded the clip for entertainment, not to humiliate Jonathan.  This is also a good example of what not to do in an interview!  Think before you speak! :)

  1. Nicely written. Another thought- have you seen the you tube clip of a woman texting while walking and falls into water fountain or something? Shane showed it to me. Kind a funny. But she on the other hand- sued whomever and got the guy who uploaded the video fired. Yeah- crazy attention getters!
