"IPhones not Stones"

I watched a clip on YouTube entitled IPhones Not Stones Are Future Peace.  A reporter on infolive.tv reported that the Israeli President Shimon Peres is certain that the end of violence in the Middle East will be when the younger generations "embrace technology" saying "the new generation will use iPhones instead of stones,"  Peres wants Palestine and Israel to reach a compromise by urging Palestine to "Establish a democratic Palestinian state, based on science and technology." He states that Israel "learned that there is no contradiction between science and religion. Science can deal with physical poverty just like religion can deal with spiritual poverty."

I found this clip interesting.  In the US we are finding that some technology is corrupting the youth, but technology can improve the young generations in the Middle East. Maybe technology will give the youth an outlet for their energy, something else to occupy their time rather than fighting.  Maybe technologies like social networks will help the youth of both nations connect with each other instead of fight with each other.
